Mungo Super good riffs here, but I did prefer the previous LP to this one. Still worth checking out though! Favorite track: Goddess of Black Magick.

bcb723 Far and away my favorite Witchbones release, "Goety" is a murky and spiraling monster with vocals from another planet. Haha - I keep coming back to this album over again and finding new things that blow my mind. New choice moment: Vardlokker's howling vocals at the beginning of "Aglaos Wolves" lets you know that this strangeness is not your ordinary death metal record. If this is the last Witchbones album, you couldn't ask for a stronger set of songs, riffs, and sound. This is his masterpiece. Favorite track: Goddess of Black Magick.

Saffron Robe I tend to listen to albums a lot pre-purchase and this album always sounded much more death metal than black metal to me. Now I’m not so sure, but when the music’s this good it doesn’t really matter what you want to label it. The musicianship really shines through on the acoustic tracks and the last track is a nice take on Burzum.

Now that Xasthur and Leviathan are no longer carrying that banner we needed someone as talented and with as fresh a take on the subject as they were at their respective debuts. This will be the last release under the Witchbones name. My time with this project has come to an end. I appreciate all the loyal fans new and old. This project was never about anyone else other than myself and now I'd much rather burn it down and walk away. Thanks for the constant support. I'm not done with writing dark music. Revenant Marquis continues with the subterranean vocals on this album. Percussion sound on all tracks has a very large sound, especially the bass drum. Guitar is generally very clean. The more I listen, the more I get Xasthur vibes, but with a more rock and roll influence. Still very depressive and chaotic. A cool album! QQBeastMode
